The optimal way to preview geometry in an extended Grasshopper definition in the Rhino window is most often achieved by selecting the visibility option in the toolbar:
– Draw shaded preview geometry
– Only draw preview geometry for selected objects

Then, regardless of the component’s visibility status in the Grasshopper definition, we see the output objects of the selected component in the Rhino window.
